It's Not Too Early to Indicate Interest.

With the attendance increasing each year at our annual Refuge Celebration, more volunteers than ever will be needed for this annual event.

Save the date on your calendar now -- the third Saturday of every October -- and let us know that you can lend a hand.

Volunteers are needed for a range of activities -- from setting up in advance, taking a shift in a booth or serving lunch to supervising children's activities, driving a golf cart for Refuge tours or taking down canopies. Specific needs and time slots will be arranged closer to the date, but it is not too early to indicate your interest.

Who we are

We are the Friends group for the Red River National Wildlife Refuge. Our mission is to be an advocate for the Red River National Wildlife Refuge by promoting and participating in the conservation, enhancement, and appreciation of our native wildlife communities through education, fund raising, development of partnerships, and development of onsite projects for volunteers.

Our vision is to develop the necessary support to assist the United States Fish and Wildlife Service with acquiring, restoring, and sustaining all the lands allowed by current legislation for the refuge and with developing these areas to maximize wildlife habitats.

We are a nongovernmental, nonprofit organization operating under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and a Memorandum of Agreement with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

We are an affiliate member of the National Wildlife Refuge Association.
